Fine Food Australia 2017, Sydney
11 – 14 September 2017 Office of Agricultural Affairs, Canberra in association with Rice Department, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, showcased a wide variety of Thai rice and rice products in Fine Food Australia 2017 held at International Convention Centre in Sydney. The activity was aimed at promoting positive images of Thai rice and rice products as well as reinforcing high quality standard and food safety. Increasing trade opportunities and creating demand for Thai rice and products in Australia were also anticipated.
New varieties of rice were presented such as Thung Kula Rong-Hai Hom Mail Rice, Sangyod Phatthalung Rice, Chum Phae Red Ruby Rice, Surin Black Hom Mali Rice etc. Beverages from rice were also offered to taste such as rice coffee and rice tea. Showcased were also innovative rice snacks and skin care products from rice. Spectators were attracted by Thai food cooking shows. Signature dishes demonstrated were red fish curry and green curry with Hom Mali rice, black sticky rice with longan etc. There were over 200 booths from more than 20 countries participated in the trade fair with over 20,000 attendees.
