Visit to the Republic of Vanuatu

20 – 24 August 2018 Office of Agricultural Affairs joined the visit to Port Vila, the capital city of Republic of Vanuatu on the occasion that H.E. Mrs. Nantana Sivakua, Ambassador Designate of Thailand to Vanuatu presenting Credentials to the President of the Republic of Vanuatu. The visit was also aimed at exploring trade and investment opportunities between Thailand and Vanuatu in the areas of industry and agriculture.

1 – 2 August 2018 Office of Agricultural Affairs attended the 7th Thailand - New Zealand Joint SPS Committee Meeting at Centara Grand, Central Plaza Ladprao, Bangkok in order to discuss market access and technical cooperation between Thailand and New Zealand under Thailand – New Zealand Close Economic Partnership or TNZCEP..

Fine Food 2018 Auckland, New Zealand

24 – 26 June 2018 Office of Agricultural Affairs visited Fine Food 2018 Trade Fair at ASB Showgrounds, Auckland, New Zealand. The Trade Fairs hosted more than 300 exhibitors from food and hospitality business, including over 40 overseas corporates. Among these, 4 Thai companies also showcased their food products at the event which drew a lot of interests from New Zealand and international buyers. The Office met with and distributor and importer of organic produces as well as conducted market surveys at mainstream and Asian supermarkets selling rice, organic food and produces.

Study Tour on Organic Farming of Thailand Agricultural Land Reform Office in New South Wales

7-11 May 2018 Mr. Surajit Intharachit, Secretary-General of Agricultural Land Reform Office (ALRO) led a group of Thai delegation to meet with staff and lecturers of Southern Cross University, Lismore, New South Wales. The Thai delegates also visited successful horticulture and crop organic farms in Lismore and nearby areas.

Beef Australia 2018, Rockhampton, Queensland

On 7-11 March 2018, Office of Agricultural Affairs, Royal Thai Embassy Canberra, together with Mr. Sumet Mettasart, Director of 8 Regional Livestock Office and Mr. Amnouy Koumsab, Director of Prachin Buri Livestock Research and Breeding Center, Department of Livestock Development, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives of Thailand attended the seminar and property tours during the “Beef Australia 2018” at Rockhampton Showgrounds, Rockhampton, Queensland. Beef Australia is one of the world’s great beef cattle events and is held once every three years.

Meeting and study visit of Thai Department of Agriculture in Brisbane, Queensland

2 – 6 May 2018 Thai Delegation led by Dr. Suwit Chaikiattiyos, Director General, Department of Agriculture, attended a meeting on Plant Biosecurity System with Department of Agriculture and Water Resources and Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (QDAF) in Brisbane, Queensland.

Visit of Thailand Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives to Sydney

13 – 15 April 2018 OAA Canberra had the honour to welcome Mr. Grisada Boonrach, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives to Sydney en route to Thailand after attending the 34th FAO Regional Conference for Asia and Pacific in Nadi, Republic of Fij. Mr. Grisada Boodrach and his team discussed with OAA Canberra on market opportunities and challenges of Thai food and agricultural products in Australian market. The Minister visited the wholesale and retail produces market “Flemington Market” in Homebush, a suburb close to Sydney.
