Thailand Grand Festival 2019, Sydney

30 – 31 March 2019 Office of Agricultural Affairs participated in Thailand Grand Festival 2019 hosted by Royal Thai Consulate – Sydney at Tumbalong Park, Darling Harbour, Sydney. The event was annually hosted to celebrate Songkran Water Festival, Thai New Year on lunar calendar. This year there was a special exhibition to pay tribute to “Tham Luang Rescue Operation” that saved lives of the Wild Boars Soccer Team in Chiang-rai. Spectators enjoyed Thai classical music and traditional dances as well as Thai food cooking demonstration and delicious Thai street food. Office of Agricultural Affairs in association with Tropical Fresh, an importer of Thai produces, showcased famous Thai tropical fruits. Golden Nam-dok-mai mango made its debut in Australia at this Festival. People enjoyed tasty and refreshing mangoes, durian, mangosteen and charcoaled coconut flown in directly from Thailand just one day prior to the event.

Thai Festival 2019, Adelaide, South Australia

23 March 2019 Office of Agricultural Affairs participated in Thai Festival 2019 at King Reserve, Torrensville, Adelaide, South Australia. The event was held for the second year by Thai-Australian Association of South Australia (TASSA) to celebrate Thai traditional water festival. Office of Agricultural Affairs in cooperation with Tropical Fresh, an importer of Thai produces, showcased several tropical favorite fruits from Thailand i.e. durian, mangosteen and charcoaled coconut. Australian and Thai spectators were drawn to testing sweet and refreshing Thai fruits.

ABARES Outlook 2019

5 – 6 March 2019 Office of Agricultural Affairs attended ABARES Outlook 2019 Conference organized by Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resources Economics (ABARES), Department of Agriculture and Water Resources, Australia. This annual conference, held at National Convention Centre in Canberra, featured global and national agricultural economics, technology, R&D, managing drought and risk in a changing climate as well as government supports towards Australian agricultural sectors.

evokeAG Food Farm Future

18 – 19 February 2019 Office of Agricultural Affairs attended the seminar “evokeAg Food Farm Future” organized by AgriFutures Australia at Royal Exhibition Building, Melbourne. The conference was the inaugural international agrifood technology event. New and modernized technology, digital agriculture, startups, innovations were featured along with business matching and investment to expand startups to global level. Agricultural production needs to be increased to cope with the world’s rapidly growing population. The seminar was attended by 1,200 Australian and international delegates from over 20 countries worldwide.

2019 Royal Thai Armed Forces Day

February 13, 2019 Office of Agricultural Affairs joined the Royal Thai Armed Forces Day reception at the Sala Thai Hall, Royal Thai Embassy in Canberra.

Visit to Sydney Institute of Marine Science SIMS

February 6, 2019 Office of Agricultural Affairs paid a visit to Sydney Institute of Marine Science (SIMS) located on Chowder Bay in Sydney Harbour. SIMS is the principle marine research facility in NSW.
