Meeting with importers and exporters in Brisbane, Queensland

24 – 25 August 2017 Office of Agricultural Affairs, Canberra’s visit to Brisbane, Queensland was cordially organized by Mr. Andrew Park, Honorary Consul, Royal Thai Consulate Brisbane. The Minister Counsellor (Agriculture) had a meeting with the largest Brisbane food importer (T&D Trading) and produces importer (Siam Fruit) to discuss market demand and problems encountered in importing food and agricultural commodities from Thailand. A visit was also paid to Brisbane Wholesale Fresh Produce Markets as well as farms and packing houses of Rugby Farms and Kalfresh whose produces were exported to Thailand. Thai restaurant owner (Siam Sunset Thai Restaurant Kenmore) was interviewed on their perspective on demand for cooked duck meat from Thailand for use in Thai restaurants.
