Thai Festival 2018, Adelaide, South Australia

On March 24, 2018, Office of Agricultural Affairs, Canberra participated in Thai Festival 2018 at Kings Reserve, Torrensville, Adelaide, South Australia. The Festival was organised for the first time by Thai-Australian Association of South Australia in celebrating the famous Thai New Year or Songkran. The Festival was presided over my His Excellency the Honourable Hieu Van Le AC, the governor of South Australia. He also joined by Mrs. Thippawan Supamitkitja, Minister of Royal Thai Embassy. OAA Canberra showcased and promoted a variety of Thai silk products including pure and genuine Thai silk fabrics and handmade products, silk protein soaps, silk body scrubs and organic mulberry tea. Visitors enjoyed Thai foods, Thai cultural dancing and traditional music performances, Muay Thai Boxing, Junior Thai-Australian ambassador contest, cooking demonstrations etc. The event attracted spectators by its fun and vibrant atmosphere. The festival will become a regular activity and be looked forward to by the locals again next year.
