Thai Food Cooking Demonstration, Christchurch, NZ

1-2 July 2017 Office of Agricultural Affairs (OAA) joined the Thai Royal Embassy, Wellington, led by Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, the Ambassador,  in  Thai Food Cooking Demonstrations  in Christchurch, New Zealand. The events were held at Thai Chef’s Restaurant and Riccarton Market. In trying to promote frozen cooked duck meat from Thailand which had been permitted market access to New Zealand early this year (2017), frozen boiled fried duck was sponsored by CP Merchandisings Co., Ltd. for use as raw material in Duck Massamun Curry. The events were proofed very successful. A number of New Zealander spectators enjoyed the cooking shows and having a taste of Thai food at both venues. Other menu presented on the days were Chicken Pad Thai and Crispy Pork in Curry Paste and Green Beans. Thai cooked meat products are tasty and convenient for use in food services. In October 2017, Aromatic Roast Duck and Boiled Fried Duck will be available in retail supermarkets throughout New Zealand.
